What is the Franklin Method?

Each class begins with imagery exercises to help you feel present in your body. You will learn the skill of perceiving what you are doing while you do it. You can practice this skill within a yoga pose, while you walk, or even during a conversation. The Franklin Method offers various tools and imagery types, such as anatomical imagery, to enhance your experience.

What Is Anatomical Imagery?

Think about your scapulae and how they move three-dimensionally on your rib cage when you move your arm. While you perform that movement, you can clearly focus on the respective anatomical image, not only making the movement easier and more enjoyable, but also enabling you to feel more flexible and prepared to move. Our aim is to offer tools such as this, so you can experience more joy and ease within your body.

Who Can Attend?

Anyone with a desire to learn to use their body in a more productive and efficient way! We welcome movement experts, educators, and total novices. Sign up for one workshop or all four. The more you attend, the more you save.

Cost: $40 per workshop, $70 for 2, $100 for 3, or $120 for 4.

Franklin Method for Yoga
The goal of asana is to bring a felt sense of balance between stability and ease. We will use experiential imagery, along with FM bands and balls, to focus on how to improve our experience with often-practiced yoga asanas, such as Warrior I and Warrior III.

Pelvic Power for Happy Hips
We will explore the three-dimensional movements of the pelvic complex to allow more freedom in the pelvis, hips, lower back, and breath. FM balls, paired with targeted movements, will deepen your relationship with this sacred area. This class is suitable for those with injuries, as well as those who engage in intense movement.

Strength in Flexibility – A Spinal Workshop
You will learn the functions of key areas of the spine, such as facets, curves, and discs, while understanding how to embody the relationship between the sacrum, pelvis, and backbone. We will also teach you the sacred Franklin Method Spinal Dance, which you can perform daily to improve your own spinal health!

The Floating Bones – A Shoulder Workshop
Shoulders have big jobs: they carry the weight of the world, they hold burdens, and they serve as safe places for loved ones to cry on. Strong and full of responsibility, they are naturally the most flexible group of joints in the body. This class will train you to free the mobility in your shoulders by utilizing imagery alongside FM balls and bands.
